The peat is surprisingly subdued, and yet quite nuanced, its darker notes dipping into the port and its dryer, lighter notes mixed up in the smoke, wood, and tannins. Also unlike the Springbanks, I feel more compelled to invest in my curiosity. I can tell when next I come across a Longrow I’ll stop to consider it—if someone else hasn’t made up their mind before I have the chance! Longrow gets less attention than the Springbank namesakes.
