Our latest release, The Macallan Rare Cask, 2023 Release, boasts a collaboration with renowned musician, Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds. Embarking on an exquisite journey, we explored the intricacies of the sensory world, discovering the striking parallels between sound, aroma, flavour, and colour, all intertwined through the shared element of wood.

Charlie's remarkable talent in identifying rare tasting notes, such as raisin, resonates beautifully with his ability to compose and play music. The art of creating exceptional single malts and music share a common language, where each note and flavour combine in perfect harmony, complementing one another in a remarkable way. 

Together, we discover the core synergies of a great creation, and how interactions with a work of art in both realms of music and the craft of whisky making aren’t so distant from one another.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Ruby Mahogany

Nose: Soft notes of vanilla with rich raisin, followed by a sweet fusion of fresh apple, lemon and orange.

Palate: An intense sweet raisin dominates before giving way to vanilla and dark chocolate, with layers of light citrus zest.

Finish: Long, rich and velvety.
