Tamdhu has called this place home since 1897. Here we wait patiently for sherry-seasoned casks to arrive from Jerez in Spain. In times past, we had to wait even longer, as the precious wood travelled by sea, rail and cart.

Then, as now, our dedication to perfection will not be rushed - only the best will do.

This specially selected batch-strength bottling captures Tamdhu just as our founders wanted. The deep natural colour is a gift of Sherry casks and time alone, a perfect way to toast the bravery and impeccably high standards of the dragon who dares to cross the River Spey and bring our whisky home.

While all Tamdhu matures exclusively in the finest Oloroso sherry casks, Tamdhu Batch Strength goes further still. Each cask is meticulously hand-selected to create this one-of-a-kind release. Moreover, a high proportion of these casks are first-fill: the very best of the very best.

This scarce wood bears two great gifts: colour and taste. The deep copper hue of Tamdhu Batch Strength is developed by the cask, nothing more – and each drop owes its rich, complex taste to its Oloroso cask home.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Warm spice with mature oak softened by orange cream and winter berries.

Palate: Depths of sherried oak, then candied citrus and crystalised ginger.

Finish: Luxuriously rich, with honeyed malt and lingering orange zest.
