Seductive, blossoming and subtle, our Hibiki Whisky range celebrates an unrivaled art of blending, fine craftsmanship and a sense of luxury from the House of Suntory.
First introduced in 1997, Hibiki 30 Year is a Japanese blended whisky comprised of single malts from Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries and single grain from Chita distillery. The bottle is thoughtfully designed with 30 facets, representing each year of its slow and patient maturation in a variety of oak barrels. Just a few thousand bottles are produced each year.
Each bottle is hand numbered and is presented in an attractive gift box with notes.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deep amber.
Nose: Leather, raisin, prune, sweet chestnut.
Palate: Brown sugar, dried fig, apricot jam, cedar and pain d’epices (gingerbread).
Finish: Extremely rich, cinnamon and Mizunara (Japanese oak).
"Orange marmalade, rich dark chocolate, and apricots come first. Then, aromas of coffee, pepper, and tangerines. The nose is complex, to say the least. Oak and spice lead the palate. Nutmeg, cinnamon, and pepper blend in with rich oak, thick caramel, roasted marshmallows, and sweet malt. Hibiki 30 year old was awarded the Gold Trophy at the International Spirits Challenge in 2004, 2006 and 2008. It was also awarded the coveted title "World's Best Blended Whisky" at the World Whiskies Award in 2007 and 2008!
