The Sassenach is an award-winning blended Scotch whisky, the first whisky launched by Sam Heughan (the actor who plays Jamie Fraser on the TV show Outlander). Inspired by the Highland landscape, 'The Sassenach' is the Gaelic word for 'outsider'. Sassenach Spirits is a division of the Great Glen Company, which was founded by Scottish actor Sam Heughan and American entrepreneur Alex Norouzi.
Breaking the mold in blended Scotch whisky, The Sassenach boasts an ornate composition of predominately Single Malt whisky aged between 9 and 12 years and bourbon barrel-aged 21-year-old Organic Single Grain, finished in Madeira casks.
The Sassenach emphasizes the fruity character of the Single Malt, while the organic Grain evokes a balanced subtle flavor, and the Madeira casks impart an added richness and complexity to the fruit notes with a roundness from their maturity. Bottled at 46%, The Sassenach is non-chill filtered and uses exclusively natural color – just as nature intended.
Tasting Notes:

Finish: Long, with lingering nutty notes and soft spice.
"The name of this blend, from Outlander actor Sam Heughan, is Gaelic for outsider or stranger. Floral, perfumed, and fruity on the nose, this brims with mandarin, grilled pineapple, sugared lemon, barley sugar, and Starburst candies, then underlying honey, vanilla, and fresh herbal notes. It’s a grassy dram, with baked lemon, black pepper, fragrant spices, caramel, cinnamon, chocolate cookies, and a lively spicy finish." - Jonny McCormick, Whisky Advocate (89 Points)
